KeyFlow Support

KeyFlow processes MIDI before it reaches your instrument. Use this page for quick setup, common routing questions, and App Store review support information.

Quick Setup

  1. Open KeyFlow.
  2. Choose your physical keyboard in MIDI Input.
  3. In your DAW, MainStage concert, or MIDI host, choose KeyFlow Out as the MIDI input.
  4. Choose Root, Scale, and Strictness.
  5. Play your keyboard.

Does KeyFlow make sound?

No. KeyFlow processes MIDI before it reaches an instrument. Your DAW, MainStage patch, or instrument plugin makes the sound.

Why do I hear doubled notes?

Your DAW may be receiving both the physical keyboard and KeyFlow Out. Use KeyFlow Out for the instrument and remove the direct physical keyboard route for that channel or session.

Why is Auto Detect changing scales?

Raise Minimum Confidence, play a clearer phrase in the intended key, or turn Auto Detect off and choose Root and Scale manually.

When should I use Adaptive Harmony?

Use it in minor-key music where the harmony needs common borrowed notes, such as G# in A minor over an E or E7 chord.

When should I use Chord Aware?

Use it when you play or hold lower chord tones and want KeyFlow to allow those chord tones while keeping melody notes filtered by the selected scale.

Router or AUv3?

Use the AUv3 MIDI FX plugin when you want KeyFlow on one instrument strip. Use the standalone router when a whole DAW session or MainStage concert should receive filtered MIDI from KeyFlow Out.
